Anyone from Oakdale / Go to Dowling College?

I'm looking for a laid back bar close to the Dowling College Campus (I'm getting married at the Vanderbilt Mansion) where we can have an after-party.

Although a cigar bar would be great -- the place doesn't have to be fancy -- I have no problem walking into dive/college bar wearing my wedding gown if it's a fun plae with cool people --> Lord knows, I'm sure to get a bunch of free drinks!

Dora, any luck finding a place?

We drove on Montauk Hwy last night from Holbrook west looking for a place to hit after the wedding...

Saville looked dry, but there was a place next to audry's bakery..

I did go to Dowling, but for my Masters degree so I didn't do much partying around campus. I agree with Debbie08...The Wharf, The Riverview, and the Snapper Inn are all close by. The Riverview and the Snapper Inn are the nicer places but, the Wharf is literally right around the block...it is sort of a dive but they have a side room with tables & chairs, dart boards, a pool table, etc. I would say to go check them all out ahead of time and see which place you like best. Thanks for all the info!! You guys are great!

We'll be in the area to drop off the final deposit in a couple of weeks (the weding's 9/21) - so we'll check out the town then. My house is about an hour away - so we probably won't be out there before then -- but it's nice to know that, if we want to keep the party rolling, we've got some options...
