I need to find a hair dresser and/or makeup person in Valley Stream. I havn't lived there in 2 years but my mom still does, and I'm spending the night before the wedding there, so whoever does my hair has to be local...unless you know a REALLY AFFORDABLE traveling person.
any suggestions?

try Jenn from the Hair Genie and Oksana for makeup they will travel to you they are both vendors and are great!

In Franklin Square on Hempstead Tpk. there is a hair salon called DiRosa's. They are really great. My best friend used them for her wedding as well as the bridal party. I was a bridesmaid and I loved the way my hair turned out.

Kathy2176 (my sis) Used Jen from Fairytales. She came to the house the day of the Wedding. She brought some help. My sis had her hair and makeup done and I had my hair done. They did a beautiful job.
Thank you all for the suggestions... I went to Studio 57 on Rockaway Avenue and had a trial hair style, but the woman didn't really do what i wanted...so i'm glad I have some other options.

I second DiRosa's in Franklin Square. I have gone there for years. They did all of our hair and make up for my sisters wedding in April and did a great job!!!

I used to work in VS...and I know Studio V on Merrick Rd., in the Eckerd Shopping Center (Across from King Kullen) does a lot of up-dos. Never used them other than for haircuts, but you might want to check them out..... Good luck!!

well, specifically I need someone who is good with curls and long hair. I am not wearing it up...I want it super wavy and down...only the very front piece up so i'ts out of my face. I'm going for a romantic Maid Marion style thing. (I have the flower wreath and everything)

My parents live in North Woodmere and here are my comments:
We used to go to Studio V on Merrick Road and then stopped, don't remember why, but I would call them and see what they can do
When I was calling Ambience, I found them to be a little on the expensive side to travel.
I wound up booking with Capellini... they are traveling and are good with price, which I was surprised about. FM me for more info.
