Anyone Get a Call Like This....

Anyone Get a Call Like This....

We got our mortgage last month and the other day someone from The Lending Group called and said they were calling about an online inquiry they received. The guy called twice right after one another but left the message on my machine on the second call. I was home but didn't answer because it came up as an unknown caller on my caller ID. Neither my DH or I made an online inquiry for this company. We did look into Lending Tree but for that I called and we dealt with a specific person but ended up using another company. He didn't address us by name either, like Hi Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Should I call the guy back? What would you do? Or do you think it was just a cold call? I'm getting really worried about fraud, ID theft, etc. TIA!

Some websites can track the IP address of anyone who visits their sites.... maybe they track their visitors, then get their names and addresses and call them back.

I filled out a lending tree form while ago and then got harrassed non stop from all thos companies even though we checked the box saying no emails or calls but that we would logg on and check their offers.

I learned my lesson.

You might want to check your credit report. Not to scare you but I heard when you deal with places like this you could get a bunch of different banks running your credit report, which isn't good.

Ever since we moved into the house, I get a million calls and letters about refinancing and mortgages. I have no idea where they got my info from. It is so annoying!!! Actually, then are always asking for a different person (no us).
