I am suffering with my 5th this year and by far the worst. I feel like someone is pressing on my face. I stayed home because I was so dizzy and sick this morning
Did you go to a specialist?? I think I may have to go to an ear nose and throat doctor now

yes- last year I had 4 infections I went to 2 ent specialists and had to have a cat scan of my sinuses done. It was the absolute worst and it did not go away until the spring and I still have occasional dizziness from my sinuses even when I dont feel conjested- they are always conjested. I ve been on every antibiotic in the book and steroids as well. I have a deviated septum which doesnt help either. My advice is to wash out nose everyday with a saline wash before you get the infection its supposed to help prevent it in the future- not very affective though if you already have one so I do it everyday of the year to be safe.

I actually used to get a lot more... now I am down to probably one a year. Mine are caused by allergies... so I go to an allergist, and get injections bi-weekly. I find this is the most preventitive thing to do. Good luck! You should go to a ENT firstly and have him order a catscan ASAP.

I have had them since I'm 14...terrible, to the point of throwing up from them along with the vertigo. I agree..get a cat scan ASAP. They can be very serious (not to scare you) because of the region they infect..being so close to the brain.
Also...a good thing to know...most people who think they have chronic sinus infections get misdiagnosed-they are actually living with migraines. I would see a great neurologist if you can to get answers.

i used to get them ALL THE TIME (4-5 per year) until i had my deviated septum fixed. that was about 10 years ago. now, i rarely get infections (MAYBE once per year, it was way better the immediate years following the surgery, i was sinus infections free for like 3 years!) but i do suffer from dryness. i now use either ocean or ayr to help prevent or reduce the dryness.
sinus infections are horrible. i HIGHLY recommend seeing a specialist. in fact, i can't believe your primary hasn't yet suggested seeing one. feel better!!

Thanks ladies... I haven't been going to a primary care for these. It always seems to happen on the weekends so I go to an immediate care place by my house.
I definetely need to go to an ENT...last night was the worst for me...dizziness and nausea

I get them pretty frequently, but no where near as much as I used to. To help keep them away, I use and Air Purifier/Humidifier at night and saline nose spray whenever I start to feel congestion building.

YES ! I have them all the time and the most horrible headaches, in fact I have one right now. I have an ENT and he prescribed me allegra-D and nasonex, which I am supposed to take every day but I don't. I also had a cat scan of my sinuses, but all they found was a little congestion. I feel for you believe me!!!
