I just started to wear them over the last 2 weeks b/c of the wedding, and I almost feel like they make me tired lol =( They sort of irritate my eyes at the end of the day. Should I keep them in all day? I dont even know how long they should be worn until I throw them out. ?

Re: anyone get contacts for the wedding???
A few things...
1. You need to find out from your doctor if you're wearing dailies, weeklies, monthlies or longer. I wear my contacts for 3 months; FH wears his for a week. Every pair is different.
2. When you first get contacts you need to build up to wearing them all the time. Start with 1 or 2 hours a day for the first week or two. Your eyes will naturally be more dry at night, so try to wear them in the morning/daytime.
3. Use eye drops b/c it sounds like your contacts are getting dry.
4. If none of this helps, you might need a different brand. Where'd you get your contacts? Usually you are given a trial pair for the first few weeks and if they work out properly, the dr will order you a year's supply.
I've been wearing contacts for almost 17 years. Feel free to ask more questions!

they will take some getting used to. did your dr. give you a schedule about how long you should be wearing them each day? you should start gradually and then build up to a full day.

WOW, I was told NONE of that. He told me that he was just giving me a 6 month supply, and that was it. I was out of there. My left eye (when I was trying them on in the store ) got blurry, and he adjusted it with the contact still in obviously. Then after I kept wearingthem it started to get more blurry. I am going to see if I can see them this weekend and let him know that. I wasn't told to gradually wear them at all. The first day, I wore them all day and I was even doing my invitations that night, so I wore them from 9:00 in the morning, until 12:00 midnight. :( I think I need to use the eye drops that I bought, b/c I think they are drying out and irritating my eyes by the end of the day.
Thank you guys so much!

i was thinking about getting them but im not sure if i have enough time - i never wore them before either - i dont wear my glasses ALL the time but i cant see far away - i need my glasses to watch tv, drive, stuff like that - so i wont be able to see whats up on the screens during the reception that well, and i wont really be able to see FH that well when walking down the aisle - even for dress fittings i need my glasses so i can see well enough in the mirror.....so ive been thinking about getting them and trying it out im nervous though!

I would go and try, this is my first time wearing them ever and besides the blurry eye thing, which can be fixed, they are fine. I love them and everyone has complimented me on my makeup (b/c you couldn't really see it before with the glasses) and everyone just tells me how much better I look now :)
I went to Davis Vision on Deer Park Avenue near the Olympic Diner, and I went in on a saturday and I had the contacts, and my glasses, ready that monday. =D So you still have time if you want to do that.

If you're seeing blurry, then it might not be the correct Rx (obviously!) It wouldn't hurt to go back in there and talk to them.
Do you have an astigmatism? If you have a high one, then you might need toric lenses which will sit properly on your eye. However, if you're seeing blurry then the contact is not right for you. Sometimes just trying a different brand can correct the problem. Sometimes you need a different Rx.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

I do have astigmatism, and he told me that he wasn't going to get me the toric lense b/c he wanted to see if it would work w/out it first. I think that is what he said, or maybe he DID give me the toric lense, b/c he said the same thing you did about it sitting on the eye properly. I just think the RX needs to change in that eye. I will go back and find out though :)
Thank you!

Re: anyone get contacts for the wedding???
Did you go to the dr? i just renewed my script after 3 years of not wearing contacts. It's weird because I have prescription sunglasses and my eyes are really sensitive to the light...so I have to get non-prescription sunglasses. They shouldn't be blurry. And my dr. checked to see if the contacts were sitting OK and correctly on my eye. She really didn't need to go over anything with me because I remembered from previously how to do everything. If you have an astigmatism that may also be why you are seeing blurry. I have a slight astigmatism and sometimes I'll get the blur but only for a split second.

I wear glasses everyday. But I can't wear contacts. I'm allergic to the water content. I'm either gonna wear the glasses or just go blind that day.
