I am probably going to be taking a visit to RK very soon b/c they are one of the few places that have my dress. Just wondering what other people's experiences have been there and what to expect? TIA

I got my dress from there along with the bridesmaids, flowergirls, my mothers and FMIL got her dress there too. SOOOO I have given them a lot of business in the past year. They have been great to us. I also got my veil and my mother got her shoes from there too. They are pretty timely and the salespeople have always been very nice and helpful to us. Their prices are pretty good as well.. I got my dress. It came in 3 months and i had my first fitting 2 weeks ago. My next fitting is next week and hopefully there will be no changes. The tailor seemed very nice. The only downfall to them is that they can get VERY CROWDED... like many bridal stores i am sure.. So if you go you should try and go as soon as they open or at an off peak time.. The worst times to go are 5pm and after or on saturday afternoons.. once they start to get busy you can get very lost in a crowded sea.
The phone number is 1800-929-9512.. The one thing i can suggest is NOT TO DO THE NO FRILLS ORDER. No frills is where you get the dress for cheaper but you have to take your own measurements and get your own tailor to do alterations. i think it is a pain because it is always better to go there and have them measure you and at least you know they will do your alterations.

The thing is.. NONE of my BM are near NYC. One is in Albany One in Iowa One in Texas
So I would HAVE to go no frills. 2 of them are a size 4 the MOH is a size 10 like me!

I mean if you have to do the no frills then you have to do it, but i if you did n't have to it would probably be better. But just remember that the dress sizes run completely different than regular sizes. just because your BMs wear a 4 they may need a bigger size dress. Dresses tend to run much smaller. I am usually a size 6 sometimes 4 in pants, jeans, etc... But my wedding dress was a 12. So your BM's should make sure that they get their measurements taken by a cleaner (they should not do it themselves) then give you the measurements.. Tell them what size coordinates with their measurements and let them decide on the exact size.

i called them for a price quote and i am now wondering if they give the no frills price over the phone! i don't think i would want to do that just b/c you obviously would want to do it all there- or maybe thats just me. I am in the same position with the bridesmaid being in buffalo but i guess when she visits we can always go there to get her measurements! thanks for your help- also they have a website if you do a search and it lists all their designers.

The assistant was were very nice to me. Make sure they don't make you get the larger size b/c they are probably asssuming you are going to get the larger size and need major alterations. Another lady who took mymeasurements wanted me to order a larger size. I was thinking that is way too large so I went with the smaller size. I am getting my alterations elsewhere. I am getting married in less than 4 weeks and my seamstress in Huntington has been great and is charging me so much less than RK Bridal. YOu definetly should check out RK Bridal. They have so many dresses! All I am saying is that you may want to consider getting your alterations elsewhere.

I went there once and they have many selections. I think they are priced reasonably too. I am going back tomorrow morning. 9:30am as the door opens. On my first visit, I went after 5pm, it was very crowded.

I got my dress there and my bridesmaids did too. They were very nice and their prices were very reasonable. We ordered the bridesmaids dresses there the week before thanksgiving. They told me they would be in around Feb 10th. They called me on christmas eve to tell me they were already in! My dress is suppose to come in at the end of January. We went as soon as it opened on a saturday morning, shortly after it was very crowded.
