Anyone get/got ready at a hotel?....

I need a place to get ready the day of wedding (9/24/05). Need a big room (i'm not sure how many of us will be getting ready there definatly me and MOH) but all the girls will end up there, plus photographers and hair and makeup people. Any suggestions? Iwas thinking Garden city HOtel ($$$$) fox hollow inn. (Ceremony is in Glen cove) Also not sure where we are staying the wedding night.

I got ready at the Hampton Inn Islandia. I had my hair done at the salon though.

I had my makeup done in the room, my 2 sisters got ready there, one BM and the FG, also my mother.

One of my photographers was there and the video man.

Then I took my posed pictures downstairs in the room with the fireplace.

I cannot recommend the Wingate more - in Garden City. It is on Stewart Ave. We blocked rooms with them for OOT guests, so I got the 'bridal suite' at a reduced cost and decided to use it to get ready in. It was great! The room is absolutely gigantic. I think they quoted it at 900sq feet. The bathroom has 2 sinks and has a lot of plugs. There is also a full length mirror, a king bed, and 2 pull out sofas. I had my bridesmaids all stay with me the night beforehand which was comforting. They took care of everything for me. The morning of, I had a hair dresser, 4 bridesmaids, 2 photographers, and my parents in the room and there was tons of space. Go check it out, they'll show it to you before you have to reserve it.

We got ready at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Rockville Centre. It was the biggest room in the whole hotel. We had 4 photographers, a videographer and about 15 other people. Plus the bathroom was oversized so it fit 6 of us at a time. All 8 of us had our hair and makeup done there also. The atrium is beautiful. We took a lot of pics inside the atrium. They have a fountain and a lot of different photo sites. They also have a very nice breakfast spread in the morning that we brought up to the room. Good Luck
