John and I were talking about this yesterday and he actually agreed that this may be a good investment. It nearly blew the pants off me! Anyone have any thoughts about this? I would love to hear them as well as recommendations.

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
I am actually going to invite one of FSIL's friends to do it... I know her well, but she wouldnt ordinarilly be invited to the wedding, she is super anal, and has been the MOH for a few weddings and loves that stuff. I think she is very excited about the idea because now she gets to come to the wedding, and we dont have to spend amillion bucks hiring a stranger...

I've been thinking about it....but I don't think I'll look into getting one until closer to the wedding. I think it can definitely be a wise investment. There are so many things to do that day!

That's a great idea. At least it is someone you can trust and has been there before.

I would love to get one but will have to wait until the wedding gets closer because all I do is add more things and now I'm worried we will never have the money to pay for it all!

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
I met with Laura from LA Productions & she is fabulous. My FH thinks I'm crazy for hiring one but I just went to a wedding where 'little details' fell through the cracks & that really validated my need to hire one! She is a vendor on here & if you do a search, a lot of brides have used her.

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
Nope, not us. I have a friend who helped 'coordinate' a couple of weddings, so I've asked her to help a little. We aren't having a huge wedding (probably 135 guests) and the location staff is really helpful.

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
I'm not getting one. The way I am, I know I'd have a hard time truly relying on someone else to take care of that stuff. Whatever I can't handle, I'll have my BM's take care of (primarily, my sister who is my MOH, will handle a lot of stuff).
Thankfully, I do a lot of event planning for work, so a party with 150+ people is easy. It's just the 'wedding' aspect that makes it different!
Good luck!
PS - if money weren't an option, I'd probably be more likely to consider having one.

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
Being a wedding planner myself i thought that i could handle it all. But i know from my own experience with clients that having a wedding pllaner is soooooooooo worth it. I will need one so I am seeing Judith GArner in April. I have to suck it up and just spend the money so i can relax on that day.

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
I have done most of the planning myself. What would a day coordinator do?

Re: Anyone getting a Day Of Coordinator?
Not sure. At first, I thought I wouldn't need one and could handle all of the little things on my own but then when I really thought about it, I realized that I dont want to be stressing out about the little details on my wedding day. I'd rather be able to enjoy the wedding as if I were a guest. I think as the day approaches, I'll do some more research about the cost and whether we have enough $ for it.
