I was thinking of getting Lasik surgery before the wedding so I will have good vision without worrying that makeup will get in my contacts, etc... I have REALLY bad vision....
My contacts aren't very comfortable and I cant really open my eyes as wide because of them..
Has anyone ever gotten it or have recommendations for a good doctor? I'm not sure if I even qualify...but I should, I'm legally blind!!!!

Oh i would love to get this done, if you get any recommendations forward them to me! I wear glasses now and I try contacts once in a while but they really hurt my eyes.

I would love to get it done before but we just don't have the money for it, I know a few people who have gotten it done but I can't remember the name of the doctor but I'm pretty sure it was in Setauket.

I had my eyes done a few years ago by Stahl Eye Center in Garden City.
My vision was horrible, but now I see 20/20!
It wasn't cheap, but worth every single penny.. and the doctors/nurses/staff were incredibly nice!

I had it done about 4 years ago --BEST thing I've ever done! Couldn't even see the alarm clock next to my bed before... now I see 20/20 in left eye, 20/25 in my right. I went to LaserOne in Manhattan, and would definitely recommend them. FM me if you want more info :o)

hi there, fh had this done last june and he couldnt be happier! he had it done with doctor joseph delarusso in nyc. you can totally negotiate with them! iut was originally 5000 and i kept asking for discounts b/c i wanted him to use the extra $$ on my e-rinbg..lol and they reduced it to 3600! good luck.

OP, I think you should totally get this done if you can!
I have an astigmatism also & I've never had a consult or anything b/c I didn't think that my vision would end up being 20/20. Is your vision perfect? Any problems within the 4 years?
There was a thread about this recently. I think that link will get you to it.
If not, FH got the prk surgery (instead of lasik b/c he has astigmatism - sp?) on October 18 at Stahl in Garden City. He is thrilled with it. Worth every penny he paid, which was around $3g's. They guarantee the surgery will give you 20/20 or they will repeat it in 1 year or I think they will refund your money.
I have several friends that have had lasik and they all rave about it.
