Re: Anyone getting married at Lands End???

we jsut booked our wedding there. my suggestion is to only speak to jennifer if you want to book or negotiate. we oringinally spoke to gina and she was so rude to us and wouldnt negotiate or help us with anything. she really turned us off to the place. jennifer is so nice!
i hear only great things about lands end!

Re: Anyone getting married at Lands End???

oh- the cocktail hour is lacking on food content, so you might have to add a station or two. they only give you 3 stations, which i personally dont think is enough. but i hear the food is excellent

While I'm not a Land's End bride, I did have my reception at Flowerfield, which has the same menu. We added 1 station to our cocktail hour, but even without that the food was plentiful. The passed food is continuously passed (not one lap around with the pigs in blankets, and then you never see them again ~ everything is circulating constantly, and there are so many of them!), and the stations are replenished often. I honestly don't think you'll have the slightest issue with the food quantity.

Re: Anyone getting married at Lands End???

I agree with Jennrenee about the content for the cocktail hour. There are 3 stations, and they are huge. For example, the pasta station is 2 different kinds of pasta (we chose rigatoni carbonara with fresh peapods and prosciutto, and Orecchiette with grilled zucchini and eggplant, roasted garlic and olive oil). You also get eggplant rollatini, garlic knots, focaccia bread, fresh mozzerella and tomatoes, three different kinds of bread and more misc additions.

Its not your typical pasta station. And I think it is more than you get in some places.

Just my two cents...

I'm not sure why this rumor about not enough food at the cocktail hour came from...THERE IS SO MUCH FOOD!!!

and the food is FABULOUS!!!

we had a day wedding...which I really liked b/c the views of the water and the gardens are FANTASTIC...I would have hated not to see the beautiful sites through the big windows!!

I dealt with Gina and I really like her...she took care of EVERYTHING!! I was in want of nothing!!! But I hear she was promoted...and jennifer is just as nice...

as for $$...I booked in 2001 for 2002 and this was what they told me...but I know the prices went up
fri night and sat afternoon $125pp
sat night and sun twilight $140
sun afternoon $115
sun night $110

here are some pictures...

this is our cake...and you can see the windows..

my guests loved the food so much...they took pics on the disposible cameras!!

I am getting married there on May 22, 2004 and we are having a cocktail reception only - which means many many stations all over the place. We are soo excited!!! Everyone who posted their pics - they are just beautiful.

p.s. I dealt with Jennifer Gayle and both very nice and helpful.

Erica, I am so glad to finally see your wedding pix!! I can't believe my wedding is 4 months from yesterday!! (yes, at Lands End, Sunday evening, July 6). We're actually going up there for our tasting next weekend.
