So far I've gotten great feedback - but they gave me a list of vendors to choose from and I have to choose their florists - between atlantic, jay becker, mormile. charles florist - any ideas on those? Also, we went to see Silver Fox production - LOVED THEM - a bit pricey for me but wow I fell in love!!! any ideas for photographers?

Why do you have to chose their florist? My gf did not chose their florist. She had her own florist who came to the Sand Castle to set up all the flowers (centerpieces and the cake). For video I would look into Bellarino . There are alot of girls on here that are using them (including myself). For photography, I booked marcy Studio .

Welcome We're having our reception at Floral Terrace (which is owned by the same people that own Sand Castle).
As far as using their florists, the managers at Floral Terrace told me that we could use who ever we want. It doesn't have to be one of their recommended florists. We're going to use Pavillion Florist in Astoria. They did a wonderful job on our engagament party flowers.

We're using Patken for both Video and Photos.

Good Luck

Hi Olga,

I think we have corresponded on another wedding site as well. Glad to hear you booked your hall. I used Cassarinos for my photography. They are based in Mineola. They have several packages to choose from and I was very happy with them.

I finally designed my album this week. :EMO1

Sandcastle bride here. Welcome! Do a search since there is some good info on the food and service. My wedding is next month and I am using my own florist. The banquet managers are very cooperative people and a pleasure to work with.

Hi Olga:

I was married at the Sand Castle on August 17, 2002. I received lots of compliments from my guest re: the food and service. The SC kinda messed up but it was partly my fault. They forgot to set up one of my guests' tables and as a result afew guest didn't have a place to sit but that was all taken care of right away. Make sure you double check your floor plan when you go for your final appointment and make sure everything is clear with everyone. With that aside, everything was great. I really loved the place. The pictures come out really nice especially the outside area ones. Which room do you have?

I used Mormile florist and they were really fabulous. let me know if you need any more information. I'll be happy to help.

Re: Anyone getting married at the Sand Castle?

Hey - I'll be getting married in the upstairs sky room - I love the atrium! we are having a smallish wedding for greek - about 110 people. I just started planning so now that ive got the hall and church im looking for photo video and flowers and band. Im working off somewhat of a budget so hey - anything you can direct me to is much appreciated!

Also, I know two weddings are at the sand castle - all guests really share one bathroom - I didnt even notice that. I hope the other party isnt loud or anything like that =) Thanks for letting me know!

Re: Anyone getting married at the Sand Castle?

I had around 150 people in the skylight room. The room is beautiful with the lights. I actually had a bad experience with my videographer (marc from videomaker) so I would definately not recommend him (he's in jail, now).

The 2 weddings do share one bathroom but I didn't hear any complaints about that from guests (not that they would say something). The other party that was going on was really not a problem. They weren't noisy at all and their music could not be heard from my party.

That's good - I ask that because my FI is concerned that we will be the 'second string' wedding because we will be the smaller one - I actually think the upstairs room is prettier - is there any experiences you all have with feeling like you aren't the most important bride of the day even though they have 2??? Let me know to calm my FI down!
Also, I asked about tastings and they said they don't do that - did anyone of you guys have a tasting?? Let me know!

Re: Anyone getting married at the Sand Castle?

I was the bride with the smaller wedding on my wedding day but since every bride has her own maitre' d and assistants, they really treat you like royalty. To give you an example my train was detachable and one of the hooks on it came loose but the SC staff was right there helping to get it back on and also constantly holding my heavy bouquet for me.
