Anyone go on a Celebrity Cruise?

We are thinking of going on a 11 night European cruise on the Celebrity Mercury. Has anyone been on this ship or itinary before? If so, please give me details (I just went on a bad cruise so Im leary of making the same mistake for my honeymoon)

Anyone go on a Celebrity Cruise?

I went on the Norweigan Sea cruising New England a few weeks back. Although it was cheap, I was very disappointed. That being said, Ive been on Carnival and enjoyed myself a lot. I enjoy cruising, I just dont want to go with a lousy line. By the way, the cruise Im thinking about is on the Mercury - 11 day roundtrip from Barcelona that stops in Nice, Florence, Rome, Athens, Santorini, Turkey and Naples. When are you going? Please let me know what you think when you get back.

Anyone go on a Celebrity Cruise?

We`ve been on 2 Celebrity Cruises, both to Bermuda (once on the Horizon and once on the Zenith). We loved both of them. The food definitely stands out. I think that Celebrity is on the higher end of the scale of the mid-range cruise lines. We will definitely cruise with Celebrity again. There are web sites where people rate cruises that they have been on (unfortunately, I can`t find the URLs anymore), so you can read what others have to say.

I don't think you will find the Celebrity a lousy line. If you go to www.cruisecritic.com or www.fodors.com and go to the message boards you can read posts from people who have been on the actual boat you will be on. I have found it helpful in determining which excursions to take, etc. I'll definitely let you know after I am back! We are spending a week in Venice and Lake Como and then taking the cruise on 9/23 that goes Barcelona, Malta, Naples, Rome, Corsica, and Nice/Monte Carlo.

Anna - I took the Horizon to Bermuda about 9 years ago!! It was wonderful!! Bermuda is really lovely. Has the boat been re-vamped? It was pretty new when I took it, but those boats take a beating!! Good luck!

The Horizon was refurbished in '98 so I'm sure it's gorgeous! Have fun!
