My law school roommate went to Smith and really loved it. I was accepted at Smith and Bryn Mawr but decided that the idea of living without boys for 4 years was not for me I was 17, these were my priorities A friend from high school went to Wellesley and she had a really good freshman year (that was the last time I spoke to her I think).

Re: Anyone go to an all women's college?
I was wait-listed for Smith and once I started at Hofstra I realized I liked being at school on LI close to home.
Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice and if Smith might have helped me get further in life, but if I went away, I probably never would have met DH (another Hofstra grad.)
In answer to your question about what we know about the schools. My cousin went to Smith in the early 80's and loved it, but said that she thinks co-ed schools are better to prepare you for life.
One good thing, though, there is a five college exchange that Smith has with other coed schools.

I went to Bryn Mawr and loved it. I never planned on going to a women's college, but it was great for me. FM with any questions.

Re: Anyone go to an all women's college?
I thought about Smith and Mount Holyoke. Thought I'd be with my high school boyfriend forever and therefore I would not need men in my life!
Anyway, the schools you've mentioned are really great. They just weren't for me, ultimately.

Re: Anyone go to an all women's college?
I went to an all-girl high school and was 'thisclose' to going to Smith, but at the last minute, my mother begged me to go to a co-ed school, so I did.

Re: Anyone go to an all women's college?
One of my close friends is at Bryn Mawr and loved the experience. I also have a close friend who went to Wellesley. They both loved it. Most people I know who went to women's colleges loved the experience and said it was a unique and wonderful experience. I think I personally would have gone insane because I realte so much better with guys than with women in general. But I still think it's an enriching experience. i think either way it can be a great experience.
Oh and I had several friends at Barnard, but since it's part of Columbia the classes are mostly integrated, it's not the same experience
