I do!! I go to the one in Forrest Hills I think I paid 200 for two years. I will telly you get what you pay for. When I was living in the city I was used to going to crunch. It is a BIG change.
I was trying to save a buck. I am not happy with my choice!!!

Re: anyone go to lucille roberts?
I used to go to Lucille Roberts.. it's not bad at all.. (rockville Centre) it was pretty good but I don't think that it gives you the same motivation as going to a regular gym.. It tends to be very cliquey-type of atmosphere.. I also feel that unless you want to just lose weight (as opposed to building muscle), it's not the best place to go..

I joined one in Suffolk county and hated it. I had to pay to get out of my contract.

I was also thinking of joining one, since theyre so cheap to join. whats so bad about them? I figured, cardio (MAYBE some machines or free weights) a quick shower, and im out of there ! Are the classes overcrowded ?

I used to go as well, because it was so cheap, but you couldnt go when it was busy, otherwise you had to wait, and you were only limited to 30 mins. on the treadmill. I really liked the classes. But I wanted more.

Re: anyone go to lucille roberts?
the reason why I don't like it since I joined:
1. I can only go after work and the cl***es are way overcrowded and you can even sign up for a treadmill until 8:00 evreytime I walk into the door 2. I don't feel safe leaving my stuff in the locker room so I have to lug it around with me ( annoying) 3. the equipment is from the dark ages.
Again, I hope I don't seem like a snob but they should be ashamed of themselves!!!

Re: anyone go to lucille roberts?
what bothered me was that I would have to bring my 6m old son with me, and they dont take a baby in the nursery until he walks ???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!#$^%%#T^#%RTGY#%^%??????????
does that many ANY sense whatsoever ?????
I was like what about when he walks and then I have an infant also (baby#2..one day!) and they were like 'well unfortunately....' thats insane!! they are so much EASIER to handle when theyre not walking yet !! I Was like 'he will sit in his stroller for an hour thats it !!
NOPE. and supposedly you can freeze the membership up to 2 months per year and unlimited if youre pregoo and want to freeze it...i dont bleeive that.
she also said not all LR's do that nursery rule. but the one by me has that stupid rule. (commack)
I may still join because of the price being so cheap (I think i was quoted $300 for 2 years ?does that sound right ?) and becuse I am DYING TO WORK OUT AGAINN !!! I need cardio badly!

Re: anyone go to lucille roberts?
They kept charging me (this was like a good 60-7 years ago) and taking it out of my checking acct.. so I just went and closed out that acct.. screw them..
There are soo many other gyms you can go to for a little more and you can have access to more resources..

Re: anyone go to lucille roberts?
I had a membership a few years ago...there is one a few blocks away. The one I was in was not that nice. The cardio machines were archaic....the treadmills were not digital....you determine your speed by how fast you walk....so in other words you dont put in the speed you just go as fast as you can. The bikes were also in very bad shape. I hope they have gotten some newer stuff in there.
I would check out the equipement and test it before you go. I also had to wait a long time to get onto one of those crappy machines.
Oh, one more thing...the hours were not that great. Open at 8:00 in the morning...what if you want to work out before work??? Also on the weekend they closed at 2pm...what if you wake up then....not flexible.

Ditto what everyone said about LR - I hated it. Always overcrowded (classes and machines). Forget about getting on a treadmill unless you want to put your name on a list and wait an hour. They scammed me into a 2yr contract - told me I could just change over to monthly and cancel any time (I was dumb and didn't read the fine print) - Needless to say, I am still paying until May. I joined Curves - A tiny bit more $ but SO much better!
