I HATE trying to find parking there...I actually missed my class because there was absolutely no parking available. I was circling for an hour(outside of campus no less) and finally found something about 20 minutes away(by foot) and by the time I walked to campus..my class was over. Arghhhhhhh!!! So annoying!!!

I went there and graduated in 96'. I either took the bus or carpooled with a couple of friends because parking was horrendous. I don't know what your schedule is, but if you schedule your classes for later in the day, the parking situation becomes a bit better.

For four years I cursed driving to Queens College and got a ton of parking tickets along the way. It is easier at night, you can actually get on campus parking (I did it for grad school there) and it was worth every single penny!
I will say that the parking permit is worth every penny...I only went at night...so I don't know if it is hard to get for the daytime...
before that I actually had my own spot...lol on the street behind QC...Manchester...or whatever...if you go passed the gates (coming from Kissena towars Main) there is a busstop...there is a small place between the busstop and where they say parking begins...but it is not labelled no parking in that spot...it ws probably available 50% of the time...and I never got a ticket parked there...

i went at night as well (& during the summer) & almost always parked in the parking garage. it was very convenient.

I was an evening student and also paid the $125 to park in the lot
I also thought that if I only went one day a week...the $3 a night for the parking garage might be worth it

Bumping.....
I am going to register there for my Bach. Sept. 04 And, yes..now I am reminded about how horrible the parking is. I plan on going during the evening after 5pm. Possibly taking 2 classes.

O M G yes
and the best part is that they hadn't even built the parking lot on the far side of the library when I started. I think it was done my 2nd year there. I wouldn't even buy a parking pass though - I remember it was $125 or something really expensive. I bought it for one semester (or maybe 1 year) and if I was able to find parking 10 times that semester it was alot!!!!
I used to park near that h.s. that is around the corner. I would vulture so much my friends called me the Vulture. I used to be able to parallel park SO GOOD back then.
Funny thing too is that I never studied at QC - I did all my studying at St. John's after class with a bunch of friends. And they let you buy a parking pass even if you were not a student (either that or they never asked me) and it was only $20

I graduated more than 10 years ago from there... (yes.. I AM that old).. haha
and while I took the Q88 to class..
I had friends who drove and I rememebr one day walking like a half hour to get to the car.
I can only imagine that it's gotten worse.
wow.. QC feels like it was ages ago for me.

i was also a night student, and there was no way i wasn't getting that parking permit! it was worth every penny.
my ex (many many) years ago, had rented someones driveway close by. Thats a great way to make some extra money if you work during the day and live right there.

Queens College parking was the worst! You'd have to go in 2 hours early for a class or pay for parking at the student union!!!!!

I never had a problem.
Okay, I lived on REEVES Ave. the street by the gym.
sometimes we rented out the driveway during the day and since we had a double it was fine. but then again, that was over 10 years ago. But I know people who still lieve there check it out there are peole who rent out driveay and garage space there. it def is worth it.
