Anyone go to South Beach for their bachelorette party?
Soooooo we were out last night, and FH's best friends wife was like, 'so where you going for your bachelorette party?' (since FH & the boys are going to Vegas for EIGHT days!)....and I'm like, we'll probably just have something local since I have 3 BM's with kids........so she said, oh no no no, I will plan a trip for you if I have to!! So, basically I was starting to feel a little bummed that I wasn't going away and he was, and now I'm totally psyched!!! I talked it over w/ my friend Mimi and we're going to do a dual bachelorette party (since she's getting married the month after me) in South Beach!!!!!! We might consider some other locations, but I think South Beach would be fun, and I've never been there.
Anyone have recommendations on what to do, where to stay (or not to stay)........any info is appreciated!!!!!
YAY! I am so happy I'm going away!!!!

When my friend got married 3 years ago, we went to SB for her bach. party. It was fun! We didn't go crazy or anything - we just went to the beach, pool, dinner, drinks, dancing. We didn't do anything crazy, but we still had a lot of fun.
I forgot the name of the hotel we stayed at, but I would just recommend that you not spend your money on the $$$ hotels. Honestly, so long as it's not a hole in the wall, it will be fine and you'll have a great time! Our hotel was on Collins Street (one block over from the beach block).
Have a great time!

just ca,e back from south beach two weeks ago- it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! look for flights that go to fort lauderdale- i found them to be cheaper than miami airport AND it really wasnt that far (45 min?)
we stayed however in North Miami- about 15 minutes away from south beach- right on the water- ABBBSOOLLUUTTTEEELLLYYY gorgeous! but you may want to stay on ocean drive strip to be close to everything

yeap, i agree. anywhere from 1st -15th street on ocean drive is prime. i stayed at the kent hotel on collings avenue. i was on a super budget but i was literally in the heart of everything, a block and a half from the beach! you're giong to have the best time!!

I forget where we stayed but it was a few minutes up the Beach from Ocean Drive. We rented a car (convertible of course) & hardly even used it so we returned it early. The hotels all charge extra for parking, you don't want to drive when you're going out to the bars anyway & parking near the hot spots is pretty tough. If I went back I'd pay a few bucks more to stay on Ocean Drive where all the action is !! If we knew better we could've used the money spent on the car &/or cabs towards a more expensive room.

I LOVE South Beach!!!!!!! U must do the bar/club hopping thing, definitely worth the fun. And while you're tanning at Miami Beach, be sure to stop at Wet Willie's for a Call-a-Cab or any other frozen drink.

I am going to South Beach in May for my bachelorette party. It is going to be just me and my FSILS and one other their friends. No one else in my bridal party can go but I will still have a ton of fun.

I've been to SB many times. My grandma has an apartment on 34th st. and Collins Ave, so a little north of where all the action happens. I have stayed at Loews Hotel. Very nice, but expensive, but with all the girls sharing one room it might be worth it. I don't go out that much there to party just for the fact I'm usually with FH, but there is definitely something for everyone. However, I can recommend tons of excellent places to eat, so please FM if you would like names of restaurants or any other questions.
You can go jetblue into Ft. Lauderdale so you maybe able to find an inexpensive flight.

My parents live in South Florida so I go to South Beach quite often when I visit. Its a great time and you'll have a blast whatever you do. Definitely check out Wet Willies for their great frozen drinks!!

Re: Anyone go to South Beach for their bachelorette party?
08er crashing! My friends and I went to SB for a weekend in October and it was great! We stayed at the Avalon at 7th and Ocean. It is an awesome location but the hotel rooms were REALLY small for 4 people (we only told them we had 3). We got in good with the consierge there and he gave us all of these club passes and we also got tickets to get into Nikki beach (even though we didnt take advantage of it) The one thing about SB is it is VERY expensive to eat. The four of us grabbed a quick dinner one night at a regular type (Applebees style) restaurant with no drinks and it was $100. Breakfast was $80 and we didnt go overboard at all! Also - all of the restaurants include gratuity in with the bill no matter if you have 2 people or 15, so keep your eyes on the bill because we double tipped one night at dinner, he got a 45% tip at least!

Re: Anyone go to South Beach for their bachelorette party?
we are going in june and calling it one of my bachelorette parties since i am having one in NYC for those who cant go to MIA. i have been there b4...first time stayed at Essex House (hear its not so nice anymore) and 2nd time at Kent Hotel.
This time my travel agent recommended staying at the Shlebourne Resort.....got the best price through cheaptickets.com. the shelbourne isnt as close to the main strip where the clevelander and wet willies is, but you can walk it. i believe the shelbourne is also much bigger than the 2 hotels i previously mentioned.
HTH!!!
