Anyone go to the Personal Training Institute?

I'm thinking of joining...

I used to go a long time ago to the one in Syosset, but that one doesn't exist anymore. I may join the Plainview one.

Re: Anyone go to the Personal Training Institute?

there is one in commack-- my fmil went and just recently cancelled her membership. she said it wasn't doing anything for her. i thought to myself: 'well, if you go whenever you feel like it, give about 10% and eat whatever you want ALL the time HOW do you expect it to work for you? and HOW is it their fault?'

there is NO reasoning with her. but i have heard good things from normal people!! they work you out really hard and when someone is there with you that motivates you, telling you 'you can do it' it def makes a difference. plus, you have appts. that you are scheduled for-- so you are more likely to keep them. the only downside is it's pricey but your health, happiness and well-being is worth it IMO! but they are supposed to be very nice there and it's supposedly a great place.

maybe you can make an appt to check it out before actually joining?? HTH

Re: Anyone go to the Personal Training Institute?

actually, they've been sending me 'free week' postcards to come back since I USED to be a member, but I've never been to the Plainview one. I'm going to try 3 sessions next week. I've been really frustrated that I haven't been losing a THING on Weight Watchers, and I REALLY want to look good for my wedding. I was crying last night because I've been REALLY trying, and I showed a weight GAIN yesterday at my meeting, so my dad said he wants to buy my personal training sessions for the wedding. He makes me cry when I think how much he does for me. I love him so much... great... I'm crying again....

The REAL trainers charge $75/hour, so I'd like to try PTI again to see what results I get. It works out to $26 for a half hour/3x per week.

oh that's so nice of him!!! i know it can be so annoying and hard-- even with me, i go to the gym so much and i feel like i'm def improving-- but sometimes i just think it should be a lot more than it actually is... i'm sure it will work if you put in just a little bit of effort and it seems like you have so much drive!! a lot more than fmil that's for sure!! you can def do it!

i would try it out and just keep a positive frame of mind-- good luck sarah!! i'm pulling for you!!
