I called and they won't quote prices over the phone but I am not willing to hike out to Suffolk County (from Brooklyn) just to get a price on one dress.
RK bridal in the city told me $710 and bridesave is $698 with a matching purse included. Not sure if RK is including the purse. I didn't ask since I don't think I'll use the purse.

I can only tell you by experience that at first I thought rk an burtons were comparable. Boy was I wrong!!! RK gave me a reasonable quote for my dress. I went to burtons and she gave me a quote that was more than $300 less than rk. If your looking to save money, it just might be worth the trip to huntington.

They should've given you a quote over the phone. Explain your situation, tell them you found the dress you might want and you heard good things about them and ask how much it would be. I dont know why they didnt.

I tried getting a quote over the computer and she told me that due to how heavily discounted her gowns are she couldn't so Im gonna make an appt. for the weekend to just get prices I dont want to try anything on yet. FM me the details and I'll let you know.

Really? They had no problem giving me a quote over the phone for a dress when I was looking. Im trying to think of the person that I spoke with...........and I cant remember her name, if I do, I will FM you.
Why dont you try and call them one more time---I can see them not saying prices for flowers unless you know exactly what you are looking for but a price of a dress???
She was very nice too--what the he** was her name?

Thanks ladies. I did not ask for the name of the person I spoke with but I did tell her I was in downtown Brooklyn.
She asked that I stop by when I am in the area and I told her I am never in Suffolk County - which is 99% true since the only times I went were to look at halls.
I'll call again tomorrow.

I agree ask for Carole she is sweet I will be there on sat for my first fitting ...they never gave me a problem about dress quotes over the phone unless they were busy I saved $375 on my dress by using Burtons and the fitting prices are cheaper too

fess for fittings? I did not budget for that - only alterations? How much is typicaly for fittings - or is that the same thing?

My friend bought from Burton's and I am fairly certain that she called for a price first. Also, FYI, I'm from the Huntington area and Burton's has been there forever. and that makes me feel very comfortable!!!
10 years ago I was in a wedding party and I compared Burton's prices to Kleinfeld's for the same dress. It was a huge difference but the bride still insisted that we buy at Kleinfeld.
I will be going to Burton's but I am not sure when. I want to look elsewhere first, as I have heard that Burton's does not have a big selection in stock to try on. If no one else can get the price for you sooner, FM me in a week or 2 and I will be glad to investigate!!

I meant alterations...I remember when I first started dress shopping the bridal shops would tell me what they cap alterations at and Burtons was so much less... P.s. have you picked your hall yet???
