can you tell me more about this? where is St. Thomas? and how long is it?..I'm interested..we are interfaith but I never even knew there was a precana for interfaith...

Did you get a priest yet? The precana we are attending is through the parish the priest that we are using works out of.

Dylan and I will be there. I am glad that there will be some LIW brides there!! Lisante and Block are marrying us. Is that the same for you guys?

I heard that the first night is 'shrink night.' The second day is with the rabbi and the priest.

Lisante is marrying us. Who is Block? Is he going to be there next weekend? We are in need of a rabbi.

Lisante works with a couple of rabbis (block and applestone are two that I remember).

Did you meet with Rabbi Applestone? We had a really hard time getting in touch with him and setting up an appointment. We decide to try someone else. We are going to Monsignoir Lisante to see if he can recommend someone. Well, I guess we will see you there!

I will be going there as well. We are getting married by Lisante and Applestone. Im looking forward to it!

Applestone was my Cantor when I was Bat Mitzvah'd.. My mom asked me if I wanted him to perform my wedding ceremony, but I said NO. .. LOL Reason being is that I wasnt a good student of his, I never studied for my Bat Mitzvah and now I'm marrying a non-jew.. LOL I was affraid he would say 'oye vey, I remember you.. you were a pain in the ass.. you never studied, and now your not even marrying a jewish man, your a real piece of work'... LOL I'm sure he wouldnt say that, nor remember me, but I would feel weird..

Where is this St. Thomas parish??

Hey, that was my parish many years ago...

St. Thomas the Apostle is on Westminster Road (off Hempstead Tpke) in West Hempstead.

Did you get the directions in the mail?? They sent them to us last week. The St Thomas Parish is off hempstead Tpke. It is actually across from National Liquidators in West Hempstead. Its on the stree that crosses over Hempstead Tpke. Parking is behind the church.

I still have not heard from Rabbi Applestone. I am hoping that he isnt the rabbi that is going to be at Precana on saturday. I dont want to use him for our wedding. He never called us back and I do not appreciate that.

We are hoping to talk to the rabbi/cantor that is at the precana, to see about using them for our wedding.

Danielle and I were interested in using Cantor Bendict. Have any of you heard of him? He works with Jim Lisante. Danielle's friends used him for their wedding. He has an amazing voice.

Cantor Benedict actually died. I heard he was really great. But obviously, he is no longer performing ceremonies.

I am not sure. But I know he had already died when we got engaged in April.
