I went to mine in Douglaston and it was really easy. Not sure how your church is.
They talk and you fill out a workbook together as a couple. They let us out early each day too.
Nothing too personal was ever asked of us. Matter of fact, we were never asked a thing!
On the first night we wrote a letter to each other why we wanted to get married and the next day we read it together.
It was sweet and helped me talk to FI about certain things he hates to talk about, but it didn't really prepare us for the pitfalls of marriage. Even if we weren't living together, I think you can only learn that by experiencing it. The couple who spoke was married 20 years and shared their ups and downs together. They were cute.
The best part was the discussion about family planning --Sorry Rhythm method is out!

They won't ask you anything and all you really have to do is sit and be bored out of your mind!

We also went to Douglaston and enjoyed it, it's a good bonding weekend and they don't put you on the spot so don't be nervous.

Fh and I will be there as well. I will be the one with braces on her teeth. Just got them as a last minute thing for just 2 weeks. So embarrassed!!

My FH and i went in July. It was just a lot of lecturing and 'discuss' (among yourselves) about your future plans. Eh.........i though it was a crock, and a waste of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I'm so sorry you girls had such horrible times. Our pre-cana experience was wonderful and we made great friends with the other couples. We had a lot of discussion, and talked about things in depth, more than we had before. I guess it really depends on the set up of the program.

All I have to say is hope you get a fun couple!!! The 1st day was just like mass. The 2nd day was fun (despite the fact that it was the middle of the summer and all I wore was a tee shirt and the ac was pumping!!!!!!). We actually decided to do a marriage encounters course once a year. I liked that we got a couple hours to focus on us. Plus the couple, Anna And Carlos, we so funny!!!

I thought it was EH ok...a little long but all in all ok. FH took a funny spin to it and made light of everything I took serious...but what can ya do...?
