Anyone have a camcorder to recommend??

FH wants a camcorder for the honeymoon. I am looking into it, thinking that Memorial Day or Labor Day might be good times to buy since the stores have great sales then. Anyone have one they love that doesn't cost a fortune? Should we get a hard-drive one or a DVD one, or something else? We have one that records onto tape, that's how old it is. (How does a hard drive one even work? How do you get it onto a DVD that you can watch?)

I may register for a small list of things at Amazon, this being one of them, and telling only immediate family. Not sure yet. We could use some gear for our honeymoon, so I don't think it could hurt ...
