Red, is it worth it?
Am, does that mean I should get the extra deep sheets?

Re: Anyone have a featherbed?

these are the reasons that it bothers me

1. it moves ...if you aren't a sound sleep (which my DH is NOT) it move in the middle of the night
CAUSING the fitted sheet to pop up...THIS is very annoying and often i end up sleeping half on the matress

2. the feathers poke through the bed and through the sheets...Poking you ANd the feathers do come out when you are trying to smooth it out..I have feathers flying everywhere sometimes

3. If you Dh is heavier than you..his side gets flat and you have to constantly pull off the fitted sheet and shake it to smooth it out

We hate it and it will be in the garbage soon...we just feel bad since it was expensive

I love my featherbed but it does move. I didnt buy the deeper pocket sheets but the jersey sheets stretch enough.

I got one with my IRS check.. PRICEY$$$

It's really comfy and warm. I hate winter beds, you crawl in and it's so cold. What I refer to 'Cold like water'

The down helped with that. Jim and I are about the same 'size' so it's not too bad one side or the other. We didnt buy special sheets and it doesnt pop off.

We do refluff it and reposition it once a week. no biggie.

The feathers do come through and that is the biggest minus for me. Right now we have flannel sheets and since their a little thicker, the feathers arent so much of a problem.

there has to be a solution to the feathers

I had one a couple of years ago and although it was comfortable it was a pain in the but

Everytime i changed my sheets i'd have feathers all over the place.

My sheets kept popping off the bed because they didn't fit well over the feather bed.

It would bunch up b/c i'm a very restless sleeper.

Was comfy though...lol

Wow, thanks for the heads up ladies. I think I'll just get one of those fluffly mattress pads and be done with it. Thanks for the advice!!

I love mine! I got a feather bed cover and put it over my fitted sheet. It's the same concept as a duvet for a down comforter. This way, if it does move during the night, all you have to do is fix it in the morning when you make your bed (or if you're me, before you go to bed again), and you wash the cover with your sheets.

I have one of those fiber-beds - its not actual feathers, its the hypo-allergenic version, I cant think of the material right now. But anyways, its just as comfortable and I love it.

Red is right - the real feather ones are awful! You get stabbed by the feathers all night and they get flat so quickly.

Get the fiber one if you get any at all. And yes, extra-deep sheets are your best bet.

Agreed, only because it adds so much height to the bed that the sheets dont stay on( and I have a padded Mattress, so that might add to the problem) and it shifts to the end of the bed, so the featherbed is always hanging off the end, taking the sheet with it...But I still love it..

it is annoying but i love it... I get a better sleep as opposed to the mattress only...

I loved it! DH hated it!!! We got rid of it. But, I do have a feather comforter as a compromise.
