Anyone have a good cover letter?

I can't find any I like online which is making it harder for me to try to customize when I don't like them in the first place!!!

This is what I usually do as well.

It should be tailored specifically to the job you are applying for and why you are interested in that company/position - and why you are qualified for that position! You shouldn't use a template.

Typical format:

1st paragraph: Introduction/how you learned about the job

2nd paragraph: Be specific about the company/position (ie., i am interested in working for xxx b/c of your company philosophy/dedication to xxx). Then explain how you fit in (ie., show how you fit their philosophy with something you've done, or say 'you're looking for this, and this is how I fit). Some people do this in columns, that's not my favorite format, but you could try it.

3rd paragraph: state that you are looking forward to an interview, and tell how / when you are going to follow up.

If you need help, please FM. I am a career counselor, so I have a lot of experience helping people tailor their cover letters.
