cancelling our DJ that is a friend of FBIL's? We are kind of nervous about using them for our wedding. They did my dads party and were OK but I would rather have a big time DJ company do it. But we need an excuse why we wouldnt need them afterall. Anyone?

I wouldn't lie and say you have a band....if it gets back to them it might be uncomfortable for you....
Could you blame it on your parents? Say that they were particular about a certain company DJ'ing the wedding....and since they are paying (?) you're going to do what they say?

well are you planning on getting extras that he doesn't offer? such as maybe lighting, plasmas, percussionist, any one of those things? If so then tell him you really had your heart set on having these things at your wedding

i'd say u decided to go with a band. if u say u got a better deal w/ another DJ they might try to match it.

i know most halls require insurance taht has i tihnk a million dollar liabilaty (sp?) ... if he doesnt have it you might no be able to use him ... so that would be a perfect excuse
