Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
We had it for my Kitty It worked. It was a little loud. But it did scoop it into a little box in front of the box. It did this like 10 or so minutes after she was in their. I am not sure if it broke or if she stopped using it being old and all.

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
it works well.
It's loud.
And I found I had to clean dried poop off of the scraper thing - that was never fun.
I found it to be worth it overall.

Great! Does it eliminate odor? Thats my main concern..we adopted a cat, hes 8 from the shletr over the summer..his poop really smells FOWL..Ive had it analyzed at the vet and they say hes a very healthy boy..he just stinks..I mean BAD..I cant take it anymore..our guest room where we kept the box will soon be filled with two beautiful boys and I have to find a new home for the cat box...so if this self cleaning one can eliminate his funky raunchy smell..Id be very very happy!

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
I haven't heard good reviews about the self-cleaning box. I think I read bad reviews on some pet forum board. I recommend World's Best cat litter - expensive but it really controls odor. Also, Nature's Miracle has an enzyme powder you can add to the litter to control the smell. Good luck.

Well don't get it if you want to elimate odor it won't it any better than if you just clean the litter everyday.
I have two cats - one used it (the female) the other was TERRIFIED of is (my male cat) but he is a BIG mommies boy so don't know if that makes a difference - yet it is loud and you do have to get used to it. I have a few friends whose cat's refused to use it so keep that in mind.

Bummer! I honestly dont think the most expensive litter in the world can control my male cats odor..he Smells like Ive never known an animal to smell before..its horrendous..but hes so cute...oh well..Ill try that litter..and thanks for all the advice on the box..I have a feeling my cats may be afraid of it as well, they dont like loud noises! Thanks so much!

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
We got the Litter Maid self-cleaning litter box a few months ago as a gift from Mia 's grandmother (my mom), and really are thrilled with it.
As everyone said it is VERY NOISY . And since we've in a very tiny apartment we shut the box off at night, b/c i'm a light sleeper and it would wake me up!
However we keep the box in the kitchen and before the litter maid, the stink was really bad. So I find that it has definitely 'helped' with odor - it hasn't ELIMINATED it, but it does help since the waste is being pushed into the recepticle 10 minutes after kitty uses it, so its sort of 'contained' and not left exposed to air
We have a cat who never liked to 'bury' her stuff after she went, so this has made a huge difference for us. And Mia got used to it immediately, thank goodness! (and she's a very skittish cat so I was shocked that she took to it so easily) Though when the box goes into its cleaning cycle, she HAS to RUN right over to it to witness the entire process.. Yes our cat is a weirdo!
It doesnt' solve all problems, (and yes you have to clean the box just like any other box) but I do feel that its an improvement over the traditional litter boxes
Good Luck

Do you think the smell of his poop is from the food he is eatting? My kitty gets bad gas..I think I need to change his food..

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
hmmm...thats good to know..my smely cat Felix, he doesnt bury his stuff either, probably why I think I will pass out every time he goes...I am extremely concerned because I have to move their box out of our spare room because it wont be a spare room for much longer..and I have no clue where to put it..I actually thought about putting it on our bathroom. Is it easier to clean than the traditional box? Im thinking of just splruging and buying the litter robot thing..its 300 but looks amazing. But if the litter maid for 100 works, Id rather spend 100 than 300! Thanks so much for all of yoru inputs!!! I think I may give it a try!

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
The vet said its just him..at first we thought it may have been the food the were feeding him in the shelter, they thought in a few weeks it would be out of his system, we feed them Iams, for seniors and our vet said that was ok. Weve tried different wet foods, different brands..it doesnt matter..he is a stank as$ cat and Im afraid there may be nothing we can do, other than wear a gas mask when he goes

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
I have the 100 one. Its not perfect but it is better than a normal litter pan. The trick is to buy the litter that the company sells. It is hard to find. But they sell it at Target. The litter box works the best with it.

Re: Anyone have a self cleaning cat box?
I was thinking about this recently. We have 3..yes 3 cats that seem to go every five minutes and my bathroom stinks every other day. PLUS..FH will not ever clean it and if I get PG, I cannot clean it due to the disease you can get, so I was thinking this one might be easier to get HIM to clean.
