My MOH is my best friend but everyone i mention this too finds it weird and ask if my sister isn't upset about it.. (I was my sisters MOH in 08)

yes I have 1 sister and 2 half sister and I have 2 MOHs and neither is a sister one is my BF from college and therother is my BF from high school. 1 sister is a bridesmaid and the other sister was going to be a bridesmaid backed out bc her bf told her too and my youngest sister is in the navy and deployed overseas.

I dont have a sister... but If i would have a sister, i would choose her a MOH... and my bff as a MOH too.. i would have two...
Especiallty if i was her MOH in her wedding...

nope- i have 1 sister and she is my MOH. i would never think of not having her bc she is my best friend.
thank god for her too bc i have a group of like 7 best girl friends and it would be torcher having to choose between several of them!
since you say people ask you this- how does your sister feel that she is not your MOH and you were hers?

yes actually i have 2 sisters. Neither are my moh. i have 2 bf's and they are my moh and matron of honor. i just am not as close with my sisters. i love them both dearly and they are both bridesmaids. one of my sisiters was upset and is over it now and it just is what it is! good luck

I have a younger sister (15) that's my MOH and at first everyone was like 'she's too young, she won't be able to get the responsibilities behind it' but for me it's more symbolic. She IS my sister and the bridal party already promised they'd help her get things together. I'm not worried.
If i didn't choose my sister, I probably would have a hard time choosing a MOH since a lot of the people in the BP are good friends of mine. So it was my way of saying 'sorry she's my sister, i had no choice!' hehe!

I considered not having my sister as MOH, but I just couldn't do it. She is my sister and will always be no matter what. My best friend was kind of upset that she wasnt MOH but she understood why she wasn't asked.

My sister wasn't my MOH. I wanted her to be, but she's only 16 so I didn't want to burden her (well, really my mom). I might as well have made her MOH though since mine didn't lift a finger to do anything. She didn't even buy a dress, I had to GIVE her a dress out of my closet to wear.

Same here... i have 3 sisters the two older ones were each others MOH and me and the other younger one were each others MOH... it works out that we actually are BFF...
I would be pissed if she was mine and didnt ask me to be hers or vice versa... but thats just me...
if shes ok with then it doesnt matter what other people say!

Because she got married 2 years ago, moved, is in grad school, has expenses she doesnt care.
In my family and group of friends the MOH pays for the shower not the mom (dont know if its a culture thing with us) and organizes it, so my sis was like i know you like everything perfect and nice, so pick your bf and just put me as a bridesmaid becuase i cant afford it and she doesn't like planning. for her wedding, all she did was pick out the dress. she didnt care about anything, i did it all..
But when people ask me, i dont tell them that she told me so choose my BFF becuase of $$..

I have two sisters and they are both my MOHs.
However, my best friend is getting married next month and she has two sisters who aren't her MOHs. She picked her other friend to be her MOH. In fact, her sisters arent even in her BP, but their kids are.
Everyone is different. If your sister doesn't care, then don't worry about it. Sometimes it's better to s-ck it up then to deal with the aftermath later though...

I used to be closer to her, but the last 4-5 years it has changed. if my mother is not in NY i barely even see her becuase she is busy... my BF lives 2 blocks from me, just had a baby who I am the godmother of, and i see her every other day..
