With your mom and buying a home.... my mom is driving me nuts. She doesnt want anything to do with the house or me moving.... She actually beat me up last week cause she was so upset and then she threatened to kick me out. All because I bought a house.... not lke i am far, it is 4 miles from here..... ANy ideas on how i can calm her nerves

are you saying that your mom literally beat you or just gave you a hard time?
your mom needs to come to terms w/ the fact that you are an adult and needs to respect your desire to be independent.

does anyone else live at home besides you and your mom? what does your FH say? can't you move in w/ him until your settled in the house? there is NO reason why you should have to tolerare this abusive behavior.

You need to get out of your mother's house and she needs counseling. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hitting is never okay.

Thanx everyone MY FH is fed up... the only reason i am still in the house is because my parents wont pay for the wedding if i move out so I just try and be as sparse a possible... she is definitely going psycho.... She has never hit before so it was a strange situation.... My father is not happy and i told him that if she does it again, that I will have to fight back.... so it is going to be an interesting two months..... how do i convince her that she needs counseling?

You know, my mother does this with every wedding.... I am one of five and when my 1st brother got married she had a problem with the way the bachelorette and bridal shower were handled and was all pissy... then when my second brother was getting married she all of a sudden hated his wife, whom he has been with for 12 years.... she has severe issues... I think she needs a hobby. She is a stay at home mom with no more children to take care of..
