We are considering an outside wedding, with a tent, possibly waterfront, I was wondering if anyone knew of any problems that could occur, if this is a good idea, bad idea????
I think it's a great idea, but there are a few things to consider. What will the uncovered walk from parking to the tent be like? Will you get soaked walking to the tent if it's raining? Alos, if the tent is set up on the grass and it rains, there may be a lot of mud. It rained before and during my tented e-party and the ground was mushy and muddy. People were prepared because they knew it was outdoors, but that didn't stop some people from wearing, and ruining, nice heals You wouldn't want you white dress to get ruined before the reception. It's an added expense, but you can have floors layed down in tents.
we thought about an outdoor tent wedding too and scratched it b/c all of the extras were weighing us down. but it is still a great idea. some thoughts: do you need to rent portapotties? i was going to b/c i didn't want over 100 people traisping through fil's house and using 2 toilets for all those people and also having to empty the cess pool. who will clean up? are you renting dishes and silverware? lighting? electricity? heaters or fans? tables and chairs, linens, coffee urns? these are all just a couple of things to price out b4 making a decision. i wish you luck! if it is a small wedding, it will probably be worth it. but just rentals of dishes and stuff don't really make it worth it for crowds in the 100's.
