I want to have string music the first hour of my wedding. How much does that generally cost? Does anyone have a recommendation?:

I used strings and a pianist for my ceremony. We used 4 Star Entertainment for our DJ and he has musicians that we used. 4 Star is also the house dJ for PGCC. Ask for Ernie. They were great!

I actually just got back from booking a harpist for our ceremony - FH and I are so excited! She is really good too...she is playing on Sat Night Live this weekend. She runs $450 for the ceremony which I think is totally reasonable considering that she has to lug that monstrous instrument to our hall :)

I'm interested in using a lone violinist at my ceremony. Is this even possible?
I just don't want anything too overpowering for my smallish church. Any recommendations?
TIA!!!

we are using Counterpoint they are a vendor on this site, and Christina is very nice. forum mail her.
we're having them play for the ceremony at the vineyards. 3 musicians...violin, viola and cello. we booked them months ago, so you'll have to check her out for current pricing.

We got a flute trio (flute, violin, viola, cello) for the hospitality/ceremony/outside cocktail hour and a pianist for the cocktail hour.
We booked with Sterling Music Ensembles - www.sterlingmusic.com. A musician friend is close with Allegra Klein and we trusted her referral....pricing seemed to be reasonable but we didn't really shop this one around.

I am using a trio (violin, cello, flute) for my church ceremony. It is $575 for 1.25 hours. I am using Counterpoint Orchestra.... You can mix & match the instruments, so you may be able to use just a violin- not sure on the cost. THey will mail you a CD demo too
