FH is from Poland and they throw coins at the bride and groom instead of rice/flowers/birdseed. Then the couple runs around picks up the money. I saw it once at FH's cousin's wedding.
I know that I want rose petals but FH said his relatives will be throwing coins. Has anyone done this? I'm afraid of getting hit with coins since they are a lot harder than seeds, rice, petals etc.

From what I remember from my trip to Poland, the coins are smaller and thinner. I am just imagining his uncle throwing quarters.
I should ask his cousin's wife what she thought.

I doubt that they will be throwing them at you so hard that they would hurt you...I'm sure it would be more like a toss.

I was just imagining the exit from the church and what a beautiful picture it would make: rose petals and little coins sparkling in the sun (hopefully there will be sun, fingers crossed)

i doubt they'll throw the coins AT you, more like towards you but not to hit you.
maybe instead of you guys picking up the coins if you have a ring bearer or FG they can pick them up. That way you're not bending down all over the place!
