Anyone have many more guests on your side than his?
My 'side' outnumbers my FI's by like three times the amount....I am just closer to soo many family members (italian-american on both sides). I am a little nervous about us being overwhelming to his mid western family (most of whom I think never experienced a NY wedding). Anyone else in this situation? I know nothing we can do and it will be fine but just felt like sharing....

there are 190 people invited to the wedding, I think 50 of them are 'his'guests, the other 140 are mine!!!!
I have such a big family and he has such a small family it really throws things off kilter. FH is funny he is so not used to it, he still has a hard time remembering all my sisters names.

Me too, big family , though I am not sure that many are going to be going. I am not necessarily close to all of them, but my father is paying for the food.
If you haven't already thought of it, you can balance it out by not really having a Brides/Grooms side.

I'm the same.. I have like over 100 on my side, just family because we are trying to keep the wedding small.. His side.. is about 40!! Yikes

I also have a bigger family than him and his mother is trying to say however many my mother has she should have...........uh, let me see....... NOOOOOO!

I'm having the opposite problem. While my family is actually bigger, they are all out of town and not many are coming. I don't think we'll designate sides during the ceremony otherwise I might get depressed seeing my side empty as I come down the aisle.

That is so my situation!! I have cut my list down to 140...while his list remains at 70! My family is huge compared to his.

His mother invited 30 people, and most of them can't come. My parents have almost 100 on their list. Talk about unbalanced!

Fh is from TN most of his family is from OK or MO... I totally understand. His small protestant, very religous, non-drinking, family will be overwhelmed by my big irish catholic crazy, loud, drinking family. Oh well.... I love my family and FH has been embraced and taken in by my family. He loves it. His family will just have to deal. lol... I am going to have to ignore the comments about 'my wedding being soo extravagent...yada yada....'

Thanks everyone! Yeah I don't think we'll have 'sides' at the church...90% of our friends are mutual at this point since we have been together for 7 years.
