what kind of dress you wanted when you went shopping for it? I know what I like, but I haven't seen it in any magazines. I see aspects I like on dresses, but then I don't like the rest of it. I love the strapless look but I was not blessed with much to hold a strapless dress up Also, I need something that will kind of hide my awful sunspots on my chest. I don't want to walk down the isle and everyone just stare at my huge freckles! I know I'm asking a lot, but since I havent' been able to find a picture of the type of dress I want, I'm afraid that I'm going to drive the bridal salon nuts!!! So, did anyone else not see a picture of the dress they wanted?

Re: anyone have no clue.....
I am completely clueless on the type of dress I want....I figure that once I start looking and trying on...I'll learn quickly what I like and what I don't. Don't worry, you'll figure it out. And about the people at the bridal salon, they are there to help...no worries

Re: anyone have no clue.....
you don't need a whole lot to hold up a strapless dress...i speak from experience. the dresses are constructed to stay up by themselves, so you don't have to worry about that and the people at the bridal salon will be able to help you a lot!!! they have ideas of what will look good on you - so don't worry about it. don't be afraid to try anythign on - even if you think you'll hate it. you never know what will or will not work for you! good luck!!

If you are worried about sunspots you could get a halter style gown. I would go and try on a bunch of different styles and then you can narrow it down to what looks the best on you. Also a good bridal shop will be able to look at your body type and pick out dresses that would look good on you. Good Luck

I have not actually been dress shopping yet... but I have heard that Bonoventure in Garden City is a great place to go to and try on dresses for the first time. They put you in all different styles and you can see what you look like and what style you like the best.

i think it may be helpful to go in with such an open mind. you may find a picture of a dress and have your heart set on it but when you try it on you may hate it and be disappointed. i had no idea what i wanted and the saleslady found a dress i never would have looked at and when i put it on i LOVED it! tell them your concerns and then let them lead!

I went dress shopping very open-minded. I had no clue what I wanted and I was willing to try everything on. Definitely try all different styles on. There might be a dress that you would think would look bad on you and could look great. Also, do not judge the dress on the hanger. Some dresses look so ugly on the hanger and you will be amazed how awesome they look on. Have fun trying on dresses...That was my favorite part!!!

A good bridal salon will do their best to help you.. dont worry about them.
I was considering the idea of covering my tattoo for my wedding.. so if you are really self-conscience about those cute freckles you can cover them up pretty easily. Don't limit yourself.
Go out and find a dress you're in love with. I had an idea.. but couldnt find it in magazines... I tried on several until I knew what elements I wanted. Then searched for a dress with those elements. But keep open minded. I thought the dress was WAY too girly and flowery for me.. but I figured it didnt hurt to try...
