Anyone have pricing/reviews for Terrace on the Park or The Chateau...
I've been looking at a lot of reception halls via the internet because I currenlty reside in Georgia. My wedding will be in New York (where I was born and raised) and I'm trying to find the best location for my out of town guests, with great food and great views and a location that has the option of an outdoor cocktail hour. I'm getting married in my family church in Queens so convenience is key. Thanks!

Chateau Briand?
In May it should be around $90+pp for a night time event.
I'll be at a wedding there in 2 weeks, I can let you know!
Do you have any other places in mind or a budget idea?

Re: Anyone have pricing/reviews for Terrace on the Park or The Chateau...
i stopped in at terrace on the park on a whim to check the place out...and you definitely have to be a certain type of bride to get married there...they do multiple weddings at once, the banquet manager Norm has obviously been doing this for many many years and he knows what he's talking about, but, he's sooo hyper and all over the place that i couldn't imagine planning a wedding with him...they won't allow you under any circumstances to have a tasting and i felt the place had a musky odor...the grand ballroom which is the top floor is the best room in the place and it was definitely a little dated and needed some work in terms of some fresh paint, etc and the outside terrace really is spectacular and makes the whole place...it's a huge outside terrace that overlooks all of queens and citifield, etc. You cannot beat the view...however, if it rains, you paid for something you can't even use...i thought their menu was less then impressive for food selections, but i am a big foodie and i wanted better food then chicken francese and penne ala vodka...but they did offer you a good amount of food for your money in the grand ballroom...if i remember correctly we were pricing sat evenings in prime season 2013 and the price was in the 90-115 range(i don't remember exactly, but i thought it was around 100)

i would check out russos - great food and lots of it...i'm not sure if they do outside cocktail hour, but i know they can do it in a long hallway that overlooks the bay/canal whatever it is that's there...also i think there are a few places in long island city/astoria, but i can't remember their names

WM has a great cocktail hour space as well (and still really nice inside just in case). Also - it's about a mile from the No. State pkwy. Pretty easy to get there!

Thanks Royalgem21
I really didn't have any other places in mind, if you have suggestions I'm open. Alos, my budget is about $100-120. pp. I DON'T WANT TO GO OVER THAT. Between my huge family and my fiance's family here and in Trinidad we're looking at about 250 people (OMG-It's scary to say that number out loud lol) Thank Again!

Thanks sportif7 That helps a lot. I read those same reviews and it scared me too. I really juts want a place that wows my guest, has great food and is in my price range $100-120, preferrably the lower
JennyBarbie The Chateau is aka The Cheatau Briand. When I looked onlne I loved it but i'm not really sure how I feel about being in a venue that handles more than 1 or 2 weddings at a time. But the outside cocktail area is beautiful. Thanks!
JulesMarie Thanks! I've heard about the Westbury Manor...I see your having your wedding there. I'll definitely look into it. How's their pricing?
