Anyone have the Sharper Image Supersonic Jewlery Cleaner?

I am very interested in purchasing this. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on this product.

I have a sonic jewlery cleaning...I don't think it's the one you're talking about...not worth it.
Nothing makes your diamonds shine like having the high pressured steam cleaning (I think that's what they do) at the jewlers.

I didn't think my sonic cleaner was any better than just soaking the jewlery in that cleaner stuff and rinsing.

I'm not sure of the power on the one you're looking at, but commercial grade ultrasonic cleaners are used regularly in the jewelry industry to loosen the polishing compounds used. However, they also hang the jewelry in the solution. If you just drop the into the container you can get small scratches as the ring or whatever you clean vibrates on the pan or other pieces if you are trying to do multiples. Not noticible on a worn ring, you get little rubs and abrasions in daily use, but on a newly polished piece it could be noticible, or if it's a pin with a large surface.
