Anyone have their own garden??

I'm looking into planting a vegetable and flower garden this spring. Anyone have any tips or ideas they can share??

love gardening and will miss it at home once i move! what are you looking to plant? which vegetables? the easiest for me are: tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, some basil, and snap peas..these require some weeding, water, and miracle grow! i plant them at the end of May/early June. you need good soil-make sure it's aerated by turning it over a few times with a shovel. if it's very moist soil sprinkle in peat moss which is good for absorbtion. i can go into more detail for the actual planting if you want but i'll hold back here lol oh and make sure the space gets plenty of sun!
as for flowers-perennial or annual?-perennials come back each year but have shorter flowering periods while annuals are good for one season only but supply flowers and color all summer long! most require lots of sun and water too! have fun with whatever you do!

My husband and I couldn't wait to get married, get a house, and start a vegetable garden bc we are both vegetarians. Well, we got married, we got the house.....but our vegetable and flower gardens have SUCKED both years! I guess I shouldn't be giving you advice, but I'll tell you what ... we had LOTS of luck last summer when we planted tomato plants rather than seeds. Cucumbers are really easy. Even we could do that ... and zucchini. We also did eggplant and peppers. I think that's it. Tomatoes and cucumbers grew the easiest.
