I have 2 more BM's than FH has groomsmen, so I thought I would make them 'usherettes' instead. I would keep my sisters and FH's sister in the bridal party and have my 2 girlfriends greet people as they walk in, hand out the programs and petal cones, and help people find a seat. They already said it would be cool with them and they completely understand that it's not a demotion b/c it would only be family in my bridal party. Is that weird? Honest opinions please...

I don't see anything weird about it if both you and the girls are ok with it.

Re: Anyone having female ushers?
I was a female usher and it was so much fun. I got to wear an awesome black/white dress and hang out with the guys and girls...it was a good guy friend of mine.
That's definitly not wierd! As long as they are cool w/ it!

Definitely a good idea, especially since you've already run it by them. My FH is having a 'groomsmaid', his close female friend - I think it's perfectly fine to mix things up a bit.

My brother was my best man, and DH had a best man too. Forget tradition, do what you want, and include who is closest to you.
