I feel So defeated. Is anyone elses parents paying for th wedding and not taking into account what you and FH want? FH and I both fell in love wit Majestic GArdens but b/c my Dad is the one paying for te wedding and didn't like it he wouldn't let me book it. He shoots down all of the halls I like and keeps pushing me to look a halls that are way out f the budget he gave use. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get te ball rolling? We booked our church for 11/20/2010 and I am afraid that we are never going to book a hall!

How has he been choosing the halls out of the budget? Based on websites or actual visits?? I suggest having him go with you & FH and let him hear from the BM the actual costs of everything and maybe he'll rethink some of the selections. It's your wedding but since he's helping pay it's expected that he will have some input. With a fast approaching date he's got to be more flexible with the choices. Best of Luck!!!

Honestly, I would sit down with your dad face to face separately (no mom or FH there) and talk to him about what his expectations are of your wedding. Ask him what's the most important aspect to him; it will help to get a gauge as to why he's shooting down the place that you guys loved.
I don't know your dad, but he may have some reservations about booking the place that he's not telling you about or he may want you to look at other places in addition to the one that you guys liked.

tell your dad its nice he wants to pay for the wedding. HOWEVER, if hes paying he should be doing it cause of the kindness of his heart and cause he wants to. Not cause that entitles him to control the day. He had a wedding. If it was m. I would tell him. Thanks but no thanks. We'll do it on our own. Hate when parents pay/give money and then wanna run the show.
