I can't believe I havent asked this question yet - are any of you getting married for the 1st time, but it's his second marriage?

It's both our second time around. I think it makes us both appreciate what a great relationship we have.

It's weird going into the marriage with the hopes and dreams of a first marriage, and the reality of a previous marriage as well... I love what we have and we both are like silly kids sometimes, but there is drama here as well... The babies are older though - 8 and 14 - I couldnt have asked for better stepdaughters - I am a stepdaughter, and I was a holy terror!

HOLY TERROR???
We have both his sons living with us!!! LONG STORY!!! Having problems seeing his daughter, because she decides to up and move without telling us!!!
But hey, overall we're lucky we found eachother and that's what we feed off of when things get rough!!!

I know what you mean, sometimes I forget he was married before and I act like this is the 1st wedding for the both of us. But I'm glad he lets me do what I want as far as planning, he wants me to live out my dream!
I'm going to have a step-daughter too (just add water, instant family!), she's also 8 and such a sweetheart. We wouldn't be able to do this if she wasn't ok with it and we're both so happy that she is, lol she wants half-siblings!!!!!

I'll vouch for Cindy's stepdaughter being a total sweetheart...she's an angel!!!
Well it's my 2nd marriage (no kids, short marriage) & his first. HE was the one pushing for the big wedding (he's also an only child, so it was impt. to his mom as well).
Personally I feel as if I know what to expect this time around and I realize that it takes a lot of work from both sides, as well as a lot of compromise.

What you said sounds like what my FH feels too, he's aware of the mistakes that he made before and he's learned from them. Even his ex-wife gave me this 1 piece of advice, keep the lines of communication open.
