Anyone here that used to watch Little House on the Prarie...

That used to be my favorite show.

Anyone have any favorite episodes???

I don't know why, but I was recently thinking about the one where Caroline has a baby boy and Laura runs away b/c she thinks that the boy is going to be her 'replacement' with Pa. she meets this guy in the mountains who we are supposed to think is an angel or God or divine being. Pa and Mr. Edwards find her and bring her home, and the baby dies in the end

I always got choked up by that one, and I thought about it just after I heard the Pope died. Weird.....

And I totally remember that episode - it was a two part, right? I have lots of favorites, but I loved the one where Laura and her friend (jonah I think) find the fools gold and she imagines she and her family rich and the Olsens look all sad and dirty. And the one where it's halloween and she thinks Mr. Olsen killed Mrs. Olsen and she has all these dreams.

I know, it's pretty sad - DH makes fun of me b/c if we catch one, I can tell him in the first couple of minutes the whole plot to almost any episode.

I have so many favorites!! I like the one where they have to do a play for class and Laura, Mary, Nelly and a girl named Jenny are doing 'Little Women'. Jenny sells her hair to buy her mom a new dress so that she will come to the show.

When Jack dies it breaks my heart.

When Pa injures his ribs and can't do the work(stacking bags of grain) he agreed to do in exchange for a loan and the man is going to take his oxen. Charles goes to the place broken ribs and all and still tries to stack the grain so he can save his oxen. He falters and Laura runs to him and starts trying to stack the bags, but she is so little she can't really do it. Then the whole town comes and helps and everythingis right in Walnut Grove.

When Laura and her friend think they have found gold and it turns out to be just fool's gold.

That is my favorite show. I have all the season so far My favorite will always be the original one.

Is anyone watching the new ones?

When Almonzo is away and laura has to water the field or they will loose everything.
she's a million months PG and wearing that long hot dress lugging the buckets of water in the hot sun.

My friend and I always laughed when the women of walnut grove became PG, they simply untucked their shirts :)

I loved Laura and Almanzo! My favorite couple.

Remember Nancy, the daugther the olsens adopted after Nellie left town. I hated her!!! 'You hate me don't you'...ugggh! I hated everytime she cried and said that...

Yeah, for five weeks I think. They have already had 2 - wonderful worlld of Disnery - Saturday nights. From what I read it's supposed to be more closley based on the books. I watched the first one - it was cute, but nothing compares for me.

They did a remake and it has been on at night I am not sure what channel though. It is really good. The people look just like the original cast.

I love love love this eppy. You got right idea of what happened but
laura was afraid that pa would love the new baby more then her and she wish that he wasn't born so when he died laura thought that it was her faught and went is search of the lord to tell him that she was sorry (or something like that) and that is how she ended up on the top of the moutain.

That's so funny. They never got new clothes. They just untucked their shirts...you're so right.

Another sad one is when Mary lost her baby in that fire. That poor girl had some bad luck...first she goes blind, then she miscarries, then she has a baby and it dies, then she thought she was getting her sight back but didn't...

I used to watch the show and I remember the fool's golf episode... and wasn't there an episode where Laura breaks her arm?

The one where Nellie pretends to be paralyzed(I think she fell off Laura's horse, Bonny) and Laura pushes Nellie down the hill in her wheelchair to prove that she can walk. Then there's the episode where Caroline is home alone and she has that bad cut on her leg that gets infected.
