Anyone hire a 2nd photographer?

Anyone hire a 2nd photographer?

I was thinking of hiring a different company for a 2nd photographer. One to meet me at my house for getting ready pics and one to be at the grooms home. One to shoot an engagement shoot as our first one doesnt include one and the 2nd to skip the ceremony and just meet us at the reception hall.

What are your thoughts?

If you can afford it, go for it :) Two is always better than one....

But why use another photographer from what you already have? Check your contract because I know our videographer contract says in it that there can't be any other professional videographers there!

We are getting two, one 10 hours and the other 5... the 5 hour one will just be at my house, the church and probably the pix before the reception... but that should be more than enough! :)

Good luck

FLaca, will you mind going to two different places to pick up your photos when you are done? Do you think they will work together for your albums and stuff? I would ask.

I doubt they would work together.
I would just get albums from my primary photographer and just get proofs and negatives from the second. The 2nd would just be a back up. Who knows what I will do?

My contract with Verdi also says they reserve the right to be the only photographers - make sure your current one is okay with that.

Any other professional videographers. I don't know why, but its in the contract. I'm not worried about it-- we're not paying anyone else!! LOL

Why don't you just see about getting a 2nd photographer from the studio you are already using?

Can you ask the company you hired to bring another person insted of having two companies? This way you don't offend anyone.

You can try Craigslist to get a photographer just starting out. I have seen some that will shoot just for the price of film as long as you let them use some of your pics in their portfolio and then give you the film, you have to develop. I was going to do this before I found Duet. I will try to see if I still have her contact info.

We hired a second photographer but from the same company. One will be at my house and the other at FH house. Check with your photographer about hiring a second one for FH house.

Good luck!

Sorry Stacy I couldn't find it... but check out craigs list! This girl was going to do a regualr camera so I was just going topretend she was a guest who liked to take photographs so the photographer wouldnt say No. But we got such a great price with Duet that includes 2 photographers so I got rid of that idea!

yes, check this, as a lot of places don't like to work with people they do not know...
