Re: Anyone honeymooning in Greece?????

I won't be honeymooning in Greece.. but have been to a few places while vacationing there. Most recently, we went to Paros, which was really nice. Last year, we went to Santorini which was GORGEOUS. Santorini is such a romantic place. Greece and the Islands are beautiful. Meet with a travel agent so that you can get more info. Crete and Corfu look breathtaking. Those two Islands are next on our list of Isles to visit in Greece.

Good luck!!

We are planning on flying into Athens for 2-3 days and they doing Santorini (which I heard is fabulous), Patmos, and maybe another island.

Not sure yet, though....still deciding

I was going to if we were married later in the year, but in May the weather won't permit us to lay out and bake on the beaches, so we are waiting. Also since my whole family is there, we'd have to stop and see all of them and that would take away from the honeymoon, so we chose Barbados or Aruba. But if you are getting married in July, I say it would be very romantic and beautiful.

Santorini is beautiful. The sand is dark, since it is an active volcano, but the water is still crystal. That is more of a couples trip. Mikonos is FUN FUN FUN. It is more party like there.

Me! We want to go to Santorini and Mykonos. I would have loved to go to Crete, but I don't think we have enough time. We are going in July. Do you think it will be too hot then, Tp?

Me and DH honeymooned there in May and I agree with tp329 that it wasn't a good time to go because it wasn't warm enough to lay by the beach or go swimming. It's also pretty quiet on the islands in the spring. Santorini IS very pretty, but me and DH found Crete somewhat boring (again, not much to do on the islands in the spring....). Crete is a huge island though and maybe we just weren't staying in the right place.
We ended up the honeymoon in Athens which was pretty cool. We only stayed a day and a half which wasn't enough time. We stayed at the Grande Bretagne hotel which was gorgeous and had an AWESOME spa....

We plan on taking a Meditteranean cruise and Athens, Mykonos and Santorini are three of the ports. Looks incredible, I can't wait! We're postponing the honeymoon until mid-June.

What cruise are you planning on going to? We were also thinking on going on Meditteranean - Princess, - Grand Meditteranean - I think the voyage is...

Our only concern is that we see little of a lot ot things. Does that concern you?

We were going to but then when FH looked up plane fare. It seemed expensive. 2000 a person.

No Brook. I think July is perfect weather. The water is so damn nice. I rented a cheesy raft and just laid in the water. It was so calm and relaxing that I woke up next to a boat, I had drifted! It's absolutely beautiful. Flight is expensive though, but worth it. Nov./Dec. will be nice, but you'll probably only be able to do tourist things and not chill on the beach.

Thanks Tp! FH was worried that it would be too hot.

You and your FH seem to have a dark complection. I do too, but my FH is pale as they come so he has to be under an umbrella when we go on our honeymoon. You'll def need sunblock, because the sun is hot there, but it's so damn nice.

I'm darker than FH, I think it is just the pic that makes him look darker than he is. He burns just walking outside- we will definitely have LOTS of sunblock.

I love looking at pics of Greece-I am totally excited to go!!!!!!!
