Anyone in graduate school and getting married? Are you nervous about

life after the wedding and all the expenses? I am lucky because my FI parents and my are parents are paying for the wedding but I feel like I am going to have this big bash and then live the ghetto life later since I amy be at grad school full time.

Yes! I feel the same way! My Mom is paying for our reception but we are responsible for all of the extras - limo, flowers, favors, etc. (the little things really add up though!)! I am in grad school now so I really don't feel like I can contribute much and even when I graduate in May I am going to have sooooo much debt to repay that I'm not going to be able to pay for much of anything for the wedding! And it doesn't help that my FH keeps throwing it in my face that we could've just eloped and used all the $$$ we are spending on the wedding to buy a house! Ugh

Sorry to be so negative.... Thinking about $$$ is so stressful! Good luck!!!!

Im in law school & my FH just went back to finish his undergrad degree
It is definately scary!!!! we are also moving 2 months after the wedding.

Oh yeah, I can totally relate... I'm in my third year of law school.. my parents are paying, but I don't want to be a burden so I'm picking up some of the expenses, like the favors, centerpieces, DJ, etc...... which is hard, considerng I'm not EMPLOYED! And, to boot, we just bought a house, so we're seriously stressing out about money right now... my tummy hurts everyday thinking about it

i'm in grad scool now and so is my fh. i've only been going part time for the past two years, but next year i have to go full time. the wedding is paid for between what we have and what my parents are giving us. we are stressing out about where we will live. i just don't know if we will be able to make mortgage payments...and i definitely don't want to pay rent....we shall see....

I was in grad school finishing my practicum...very stressful time to plan and have a wedding. Plus I was working full time too, but in the end it all worked out!

lol, YES, I just hope that we will get by! I am in graduate school, Dowling, right now, and he is in the Marine Corp so right now ewe are both broke and I'm not sure how its gonna be after the wedding

I am SO nervous about life after the wedding. My FH has been working since college, but doesn't make a huge amount, and I have been in grad school full time for the last 3 years. I will still be in grad school for the next two years. We are also lucky b/c our parents are paying for the wedding, but there are still so many living expenses for us to consider. We are going to be living on a very tight budget, which neither of us have had to do before, so it is going to take a lot of getting used to.

Yes! I am HUGELY nervous. I am in grad school now & hoping to finish right before the wedding. I had my undergrad student loans defered b/c of grad school and trying to save for the wedding. I feel really bad coming in to the marriage with thousands of dollars of debt. I am currently trying to find a better paying job, but haven't been very lucky so far!

ETS---I forgot to say that we are paying for the vast majority of the wedding ourselves!!
Oh, the stress! :-P

yeah my fi and i are paying for our whole wedding alone and i will be back in grad school full time in september.

My FH graduated from grad school in 2002 and we are dealing with his student loans and debt. I'm in grad school part time right now and working full time and I wont' be done until fall 2005. I'm very lucky in that my parents are helping us out with the costs of the wedding. I am stressing out with planning, school, work and life. So much juggling. We are getting married in the summer because that is only time I can do it and postponing the honeymoon until December, because that is the only time I can do it

I work full time and go to school part time nights so I am not really worried since we both have full time salaries coming in. The problem is I can only afford to take 1 class at a time
