Anyone in Insurance????

I need to get condo insurance. When I called Allstate (where I have my car insurance), he told me that he needs to run a credit check on everyone who lives in the house over the age of 18.

The house is in my name only...anything financial is in my name only. FH has bad credit (from his ex-wife).

Is this right? Am I going to be denied a policy because FH has bad credit? Please advise....thanks.

I am involved in an industry association. It's a big arguement that insurance companies use credit to relate to premiums.

Personally I find it disgusting and nearly an invasion on priacy. But they can do it. Annoying as it is. Same for car insurance.

They Can, but don't Have to. You probably won't be denied (takes more) but the cost of insurance is higher for those with bad credit.
