I need to get to the VFW Hall on Lincoln Road...coming from the North, should I take the Cross Island to Hempstead Tpke or should I take the Southern State to Franklin Ave??

Get of on Franklin Ave make a right on Hempstead.

If this is the one just north of Hempstead Tpke. (which I think it is) you can take SS to Franklin Ave. exit 16 north. At Hempstead Tpke. make a right, then make a left a few blocks down onto Lincoln.
Been a while since I worked over there, but there may be a 7-11 on that corner.

The that's the one i am thinking of!! I used to park in their lot to read during my dinner breaks!!
Guess it depends on where you are traveling from .... but if you are coming from the LIE from the city... then take Cross Island to Hempstead Tpke. West. Once you pass the intersection of Franklin Avenue, then it is only a few blocks from there!!

So, I should take Hempstead Tpke and not the Southern State? I live on the LIE...almost literally. LIE to CIP to Hempstead?

Yes... if you live on the LIE... go LIE to CIP. Take it south to Hemp. Tpke. exit. Go East on Hemp. Tpke. Pass Franklin Ave. Make a left onto Lincoln by the 7-11

The VFW is across the street from the FS. Public Library, if I remember correctly. All below directions are correct, but I think it is the corner after the 7-11.
