I have a question. Last year, they put up a 30mph sign on my street. Well, people drive by at least 50-60 mph sometimes and it is ridiculous. There are many children in the area and it would only take a split second for them to get hit. Do you know what I would do to get that 30mph enforced? They won't put a stop sign up because at the corner it is a dead end. AND....I know who the culprits are and it makes me sick because they are driving with small kids in the car, spinning their tires at the end of the block and one of them actually has 2 small kids of their own-LOSERS!! I am pretty sure you can just call them and ask them to keep an eye on the area...

keep calling and complaining about it....if enough people call and complain over a certain period of time, they will patrol the area/sit and watch just to stop the calls. i know this from hearsay/experience and because FBIL is a suffolk cop.

You may want to call whoever has jursdiction on the street, meaning your town's road dept. They also monitor high-speed areas and can talk to police at a different level. They can also put up alternate methods, such as the speed indicators that tell you how fast you are actually going. They reduce speed sometimes by 20 mph!

Thanks everyone! My neighbor is a cop and my dh feels if he hasn't done anything then they never will. I am telling you though, one more time I hear these cars drive by that fast, I am calling!!

My road is exactly the same. We lives by SUNY SUFOLK and when they let out it is a mad house. It's dangerous because of all the traffic nd the speeding!

I have the same problem except that we have 2 stop signs AND a blinking red light. There are soo many kids in the neighborhood but no one seems to care. Good luck
