FH researched both before we registered. They are pretty comparable, depending on which 'model' you got. If you do a google search for henckeles vs wustoff you will find a lot of helpful reviews. I have used Henckles before and loved them, however we registered for the Wustoff. One of my friends is a chef and those were the ones she recommended.
FH researched our knives extensively. They are very comparable, but Wusthof is generally considered to be more commercial grade...the All-Clad of knives. So naturally...we had to have those lol.
I got the wustoffs for my shower and so far they are awesome...i think they are FH's new favorite thing! From what i heard the henkles are really good too though...
both are great companies. i have henckels knives and they are fantastic. i can't believe how much better it is to use a great knife instead of that cheap crap i have been using from college years. my only recommendation is that if you keep the henckles knives, make sure it is the collection with the two people on it, not one. hth.
my friends husband is a chef and SWEARS by wusthoff! I registered for those.
