I'm just curious, and probably over-reacting. Matthew for the last 3 - 4 weeks has had a terrible cough, but mostly at night. He had a cold for 2 weeks, and was taken to the doctor twice at that time and they said he sounded great. Now it's 2 weeks later and he doesn't have the runny nose anymore, but is coughing at night, waking up several times. Could it just be from excess drool from possible teething? I was reading one of my books and it suggests it could be nocturnal asthma. Does anyone know anything about this? My DH had asthma as a child, and so did my mom.... I read it also runs in families. Could this be his problem? Should I take him to the doctor again when they will just tell me again he is fine? Thanks.
On a good note... Matthew as you all know has been colicky. Last night was the first night in 5 1/2 months that was wonderful! We got home from work and he didn't fuss AT ALL. What a joy! Now that is what it's supposed to be like. Let's hope it continues!!!!

Re: Anyone know anything about infant asthma?
Sounds so similar to what I am going through. It could just be a drip. I used Triaminic cold and cough and it seemed to work pretty well. Yes it could be an early sign on Asthma but I guess theres really no way to know yet. Only good thing they told me was that MOST of the time babies and children outgrow asthma. It gets frustrating for me sometimes cause he can be coughing and congested and then when he goes to the PEd he sounds fine. It almost makes me feel like a liar.. lol I would call your Ped again and ask them what he can take. After a few weeks I put him on an antibiotic and it went away.. Maybe thats what you need as well.. The saline nose spray helps with drips too. Good luck
