Basically you will need flood insurance if you are with in like 6 blocks of the water which is most of South of Montauk Hwy. All of Lindenhurst is nice except I would stay away from North of Sunrise. It has become a bit ceedy over there. I don't have any kids yet but alot of my friends do and they all go to different grammar schools in Lindy and I haven't heard any complaints.

You may also want to do a search on here. Lindenhurst has come up alot in the last couple of months. GOOD LUCK.

Re: Anyone know anything about ???

We've done extensive research on the area and drove all over it. We went to a ton of open houses, spent time in the village, walked through some stores and ate in a couple of restaurants. We are in the process of getting the contracts signed on a house there.

I've never lived there but we really like the area and I got a lot of input from a few posters who do live there over the last few weeks.

I'm happy to share all I have learned, although I'm not a resident...yet - fingers are crossed.

We're looking there for a house right now in the area south of montauk. We can't get a house if the taxes are too high but for some houses, the taxes arent too bad. My only worry is the commute but I live in Queens now and have at least an hour commute to the city now, so is it that big of a difference? I take a crappy bus and train.
