Anyone know of or have pics of what an eletric fireplace

costs??? I would love to have one installed and it may be easier then then a real one, but do they look good??? Thanx for your help and any pics you post, in advance!

I'm not sure about electric fireplace's but they make Gas fireplace's which are really easy to take care of.
One type of gas fireplace is called direct vent, you don't need a chimney - it just needs to have an outside wall.
To have a Brick fireplace/Chimney built can be really expensive but the gas ones are about 800-1,500 plus how ever much to run the gas line and installation of the fireplace.

well we may have oil heat so does that mean that a gas fireplace is out?

no, you would just need to get a gas tank, they can go on the side of your house.

I don't know how much this costs, but you can get a gas line going to your house for your fireplace instead of putting a gas tank on the side of your house.

You can call up 1-800-GAS-2001 and give them your address to see if they have gas on the street you live on. I'm sure they can tell you or refer you to someone who can give you an estimate to how much it costs to get a gas line to your house.

Gas fireplaces are great- they can turn on by remote too. You don't need any wood or anything.

We have one -- that we bought at Thomasville. I love it -- we get so many compliments on it -- All they do is deliver it and plug it in -- It looks soooo real !

I saw an electric fireplace last night, my SFIL has one. You just a cut a hole in the wall to inset it a bit and plug it in. It was two options, on or on plus blower (will give off heat)

2 of my sister-in laws have them and my mother in law. One of my SIL made it herself, she is good like that, it is all stone faced all the way up a wall it looks great.
