it's a Stony Brook University graduate education program called: Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MA/LS) Online. FH needs to find a grad program to fulfill requirements for NY professional certification. We found this education program on the stony brook website and it is all online courses. I would hate to see him sign up and then find out the program is terrible (or terribly hard!!) If anyone knows about this program or knows of other good programs offered on LI it would really help to hear about them! TIA!

I finished that program last year. It is the easiest thing I ever did. I learned some interesting things but my whole purpose for that was just to get my Masters as soon as possible so I could get paid more .lol.
Anyway it is a great program, stonybrook is very reputable and about 85% of my school district took that program.

Sorry to barge in on your boards... I had no idea that Stony Brook offered this. I graduated with my teaching degree 2 years ago and have not gone back for my masters yet. I am kinda freakin b/c I found out I am pregnant and I am so worried about finding time to get my masters! You made my day because I can do this to get my masters!!! yay!!!

Actually, they also offer the MALS entirely online too, but it is a bit harder online. The convenience of an online program is amazing though.

I took my first 3 classes at the campus until I found out that I could do it online and then I switched. Best decision ever. I did all my classes on my preps at work
